My Take On: The New Braiding Handbook

Hey everyone,

If you've been following my blog for a long time, you'll know I hardly ever post about my hair. That's because we have a love/hate relationship! My hair is naturally very curly and is dark brown. I've found it kinda boring. Then Pinterest came about and I thought wow! I can use all of these great ideas. Buuut...those tutorials usually don't work. Then I received The New Braiding Handbook by Abby Smith! In all seriousness, these have been the only hair tutorials that I've ever been successful at! The book features a ton of great ideas, both casual and messy to formal and elegant. So far I've tried 4-5 of them, and several styles I've worn again and again. I only have pictures a few that I've tried!

The book has been really helpful and I actually keep it in my bathroom so I can use it in the morning when I get ready! :)

Definitely check this book out if you are wanting to step up your braid game! http://www.twistmepretty.com

Black + Nude Glitter Ombre Nail Art

Hi everyone! Today I have a so-fun color combo. This ombre trend seems to be sticking around for a while, and I wanted to try out a fully glitter-ized version. I used started with e.l.f. Desert Haze for a nude base and Essie Licorice for a black base. Then I started my glitter ombre! I used China Glaze Champagne Kisses for my Nude Glitter. For the Black Glitter I used Urban Outfitters Black Glitter polish (no name!). The ombre turned out surprisingly well, and as both of these glitters are relatively chunky, I could touch up with no issue! I did have to use 2 coats of top coat to full seal these in.

My Take On: Jenna Hipp Fashionably Late

Hi everyone!

Today I have a great new Jenna Hipp polish for review. I am a sucker for fall colors so despite the warm weather I couldn't resist Fashionably Late- a deep navy with subtle sparkle. I'm really digging the Jenna Hipp collection and this polish is one of my favorites. I used two coats for these photos.

My Take On: China Glaze Crinkled Chrome in Don't Be Foiled

Hi everyone! Today I have my review of an awesome polish from China Glaze. Their Crinkled Chrome collection was a bit scary to me at first but I was surprised to find that I really loved wearing it! I tried out Don't Be Foiled- a light blue metallic with bar and circle glitter pieces. The polish is matte and very textured. Once it was dry (which took about 1 minute), I couldn't stop playing with my fingers! I used only two coats. I like textured polishes like this too as when you get a chip, you can just add more and it looks very normal.

Have you tried any of the Crinkled Chrome polishes?
