Another Half Moon Mani, with Models Own Beetlejuice Purple Blue and China Glaze Watermelon Rind

Hey friends! Today I've got a fun color combo for a Half Moon mani! As always, I get a little help from my hole punch reinforcer stickers for a perfect Half Moon! Since I already had China Glaze Watermelon Rind on, it was very dry and ready to go! I applied my stickers and three coats of Models Own Beetlejuice Purple Blue on top. Once it was dry, I peeled off the stickers and applied my top coat. Easy, fun and perfect everytime!

Enjoy!

Music Monday: Passion Pit, Dragonette, and a B.o.B. Mashup

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a great Monday. Here are some awesome tunes to get your week going!

1. ALBUM: Gossamer- Passion Pit
Finally! New music from Passion Pit. They teased this album with their first hit, Take a Walk, but there are so many great tracks on the album. You can listen to the full album here.

2. Rocket Ship-Dragonette
Most people only know Dragonette from the cheeky Martin Solveig collaboration 'Hello' which seemed to be in a million commercials etc. Their album drops this September and this is just one of the excellent tracks starting!

3. Both of Us Feel Good- 2F Mashup
This stellar mashup includes a slew of popular songs, but is led by the B.o.B/Taylor Swift 'Both of Us.' It also features Feels So Close by Calvin Harris, 100 Years by Five for Fighting, I gotta

My Take On: China Glaze Watermelon Rind (Swatch + Review)

Hi everyone! To end the week on a great note, I have my review of China Glaze Watermelon Rind which I received from Beauty Stop Online. Watermelon Rind is a dark teal, with so much glitter in it. I was happily surprised with the shimmer this polish had. Application was perfect and I only needed two coats. Love this polish!

You can pick up Watermelon Rind right here!

Black Dotted Gradient Mani

Hello everyone! Today I have an easy nail art look. I started with Pure Ice Kiss Me Here from their Fifty Shades of Gray collection. I then added dots using a dotting tool and A England Bridal Veil from the Legends collection. Overall I like this mani but it took forever!! Have you ever tried this type of nail art?

Olympics Nails!

Hi everyone! Today I'm so excited to share my olympic inspired nails! I wanted to include several elements in this look, so my pinky nail features a British Flag in honor of London hosting the games. The flag is painted with Butter London Blagger, OPI Alpine Snow and OPI Wocka Wocka. My middle three fingers were inspired by the medals in gold, silver and bronze. The Silver is Wet 'N Wild Gray's Anatomy, but the Gold and Bronze are combinations- Gold (Zoya Jules + KleanColor Metallic Yellow) and Bronze (Pure Ice Ion-ically Yours + China Glaze Harvest Moon). Finally my thumb features the Olympic Rings! I learned a trick yesterday from The Daily Varnish on how to get these rings looking good! The rings include Butter London Blagger, Chanel Mimosa, OPI Jade is the New Black, Essie Licorice and Maybelline Coraliscious. I loved doing this mani and I am super excited for the Olympics to start!

My Take On: China Glaze Coral Star

Hello friends! Today I've got swatches of a gorgeous summer shade, China Glaze Coral Star. If you couldn't tell from the title, it's a coral shade but with a metallic sheen to it. This polish was provided to me from the wonderful Beauty Stop Online! I seriously love this color. I am pondering using it for a pedicure as it is just the perfect shade for summer. The application was decent but got a little goopy with a third coat. The wear on this shade was also excellent, I wore it all weekend!

You can pick up this polish right here!

Enjoy!

Music Monday: Chiddy Bang, Conor Maynard, SBTRKT and more!

Happy Monday! Today I have my weekly music picks. Whether you're sitting at work or enjoying a summer off- I hope these songs will add a little something to your day!

1. Going Hard Freestyle- Chiddy Bang
Probably the best use of a Ke$ha sample I've ever heard (from We R Who We R). And I always love Chiddy.

2. Vegas Girl- Conor Maynard
I must admit, I think I have a crush on Conor Maynard. This may make me a pedophile because he is a bit younger than me. But this song just makes me want to dance and I think it is going to be playing on the radio very shortly.

3. Gloss- SBTRKT
Loving this brand new track from UK Producer SBTRKT. I find his music to be the perfect workday tunes.

4. Spectrum (Say My Name)- Florence + The Machine (Calvin Harris Remix)
As is everything from Florence + The Machine, the original version of this song is gorgeous. But add some Calvin Harris to the mix and it's a whole new story.

Hope you enjoy these tunes!

Neon Matte Chevron Mani with China Glaze In the Limelight and Zoya Phoebe

Howdy friends! Today I've taken the lovely China Glaze In the Limelight that I blogged about yesterday, and added another neon matte shade to it! Zoya Phoebe is a matte aqua shade that is perfect for summertime. Using a nail art brush, I painted a chevron design on top of In the Limelight. This time I didn't add any topcoat so my nails could bask in all of their matte glory!

Hope you enjoy!

My Take On: China Glaze In The Limelight

Hi friends! Today I'm swatching a new polish I received from Beauty Stop Online- China Glaze In the Limelight! ITL is a matte neon green that is AWESOME. I loved having this polish on my nails and I got lots of compliments on the color. I used three coats and it was perfect. For these photos I used a top coat so it's a bit shinier then it would be without one.

You can grab In the Limelight right here!  http://www.beautystoponline.com/China-Glaze-Green-Nail-Polish-s/137744.htm

Inspired by Madewell! KC Blogger Meetup Event

Hello there friends! So this Sunday I was lucky enough to attend my first ever KC Blogger meetup. It was hosted at Madewell and we had the store to ourselves! Madewell also offered a braidbar which  was amazing, however my hair was not in any shape to be braided so I just observed. Along with drooling over just about every item in the store, I sought out inspiration for a nail art look- and found it! I snapped a pic of these darling flats, called Polka Dot Sidewalk Skimmer in dark camel. While I ended up buying a different pair of shoes, this was a color combination I could not pass up.

I started off with OPI Barefoot in Barcelona, one of my all time favorite neutrals. For the polka dots I used a bobby pin (my go to dotting tool) and Butter London Blagger. Both the shoes and this nail look are just too cute!

(my poor quality iPhone pic from the event!)

Enjoy!

Music Monday: NEW No Doubt, Ellie Goulding and more!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today I'm sharing some of my favorite new tracks.

1. Settle Down-No Doubt
I am SO excited about this. I liked all of Gwen's solo stuff, but this new single from No Doubt is just good 'ol 90's fun.

2. Hanging On- Ellie Goulding ft. Tinie Tempah
This new song from Ellie Goulding is just awesome. It's a cover of Active Child. It is funny to me how popular 'Lights' is in the US right now considering it has been out and on my radar for at least a year and a half.

3. ALBUM: Channel Orange- Frank Ocean
One of many things I love about this album is that Frank Ocean released it a week early! And put the entire album stream on his blog. Listen Here: http://frankocean.tumblr.com/post/26885717440/channelorange

4. Video Games (Cover) -Young Professionals
I was never crazy about Lana Del Ray, but this cover makes me appreciate how good this song really is.

Hope you enjoy these!

Cloud Nail Art with Hard Candy Frenzy, Zoya Jules and Wet 'N Wild Gray's Anatomy

Hi friends and Happy Friday!! Today I've got a cloud mani for you, this is just the second one I've ever done! I started with Hard Candy Frenzy, a creme teal shade that I love. I added the first cloud shape using Wet 'N Wild Gray's Anatomy- a metallic silver. Finally, I topped it off with Zoya Jules, a faded gold metallic polish. I love the cloud mani because it is so easy! :)

Enjoy and have a good weekend!

OPI Fly vs. Hard Candy Frenzy-Dupe Alert!

Hi everyone! Today I've got a dupe alert for you. These two polishes have been sitting next to each other for a few months and I finally tried them out on the same hand to compare. OPI Fly and Hard Candy Frenzy are extremely similar. OPI Fly is just a tiny tiny bit more green than HC Frenzy, but to someone who didn't know I was wearing two polishes, it would be practically impossible to tell.

Has anyone else spotted these two as twinsies?

My Take On: Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream

Hi friends! Today I'm trying out a polish I've been eyeing for quite some time. Mermaid's Dream by Deborah Lippmann is a metallic aqua color with blue hexagonal glitter and gold microglitter. I applied it in two coats and it was just fine. I love this color and the name suits it so well

Have you tried this color?

Metallic Tribal Mani with China Glaze Harvest Moon

Hi friends! Today I've got a fun simple mani. I started with LA Colors Electrified (Finally found the names of these polishes!). Electrified is a metallic pink that goes on very smoothly. I added a tribal design using China Glaze Harvest Moon from the Hunger Games collection using a nail art brush. Unfortunately, I only snapped one good photo and since the colors were a bit too close to each other, the design was harder to see than I envisioned. Live and learn!

Enjoy!

One Final July 4th Nail Art Look

Even though it's July 5th, I have one final post for you! This one is very simple though as I did this in about five minutes!

I used Maybelline Caliente Coral, Butter London Blagger and OPI Alpine Snow for my base colors. I added some glitter with Urban Outfitters Glitter Blue and Red, and used Essie LuxeEffects Shine of the  Times. I love this simple patriotic mani and it was a great way to end my series of July 4th manis!

July 4th Nail Art x2!

Hi everyone and Happy 4th of July! Today I've got two manis to show you with some patriotic inspired nail art.

First I've got some picnic-table inspired gingham nails. I used OPI Alpine Snow as my base, and made the red stripes using Nicole by OPI Keep It Real. I added CND Crimson Sparkle on top for some extra shimmer.

For my second mani, I tried out the gradient trend with LA Colors Metallic Navy. I started again with OPI Alpine Snow, then using a makeup sponge, created the gradient look.

Hope you enjoy these and have a fun and safe July 4th!

My Take On: Model's Own Golden Green Beetle Juice

Hi everyone! Hope you're liking my new design here. I'll probably be tweaking things for the next week or so, so my apologies if something looks weird! Today I'm trying out Model's Own Golden Green Beetle Juice. GGBJ is a really gorgeous metallic, on the verge of lime, but a little more subdued. Application was great and I only used two coats on this.

Enjoy!

Music Monday: Jr Blender Remixes

Hello and Happy Monday. Today I'm dedicating my Music Monday post to just one artist. But this is not your average artist. Jr Blender takes popular songs and remixes them with a reggae twist. They are infectious and perfect for hanging by the pool this summer!

This Rihanna remix was the first one that caught my attention:

But here are a few more that I love!
It Will Rain by Bruno Mars:

And I'd never expect a Robyn song to work with a reggae remix but it does!

Hope you enjoy these! You can find all of Jr Blender's remixes here: http://vimeo.com/jrblender
