July 4th Nail Art: Crackle

Hey everyone! Today I've got another patriotic mani for you. This time using the crackle/splatter craze. I used OPI Alpine Snow as the base color. I then used OPI Navy Shatter and OPI Red Shatter on each nail for the July 4th look. For fun, I also added CND Sapphire Sparkle over the Navy section and CND Crimson Sparkle over the Red section. You can kind of tell the difference :) Hope you all have a great weekend!

July 4th Nail Art- Splatter!

Happy Thursday! Today I've got a July 4th inspired mani. I used the popular splatter technique with patriotic colors! I started with Nicole by OPI Keep It Real. I added splatter with OPI Alpine Snow, Zoya Jules and A England Order of the Garter. On top of all of that I used CND Crimson Sparkle for some extra shimmer! I thought this turned out great, festive, almost like fireworks!

Enjoy!

OPI Stranger Tides- Matte!

Hey dudes! Today I have a simple swatch of OPI's Stranger Tides from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection. But this time I added Hard Candy's Matte top coat! I love this color matte, it softened it up a bit. And it surprisingly wore very well for a few days!

Metallic Gradient Mani + Tutorial!

Hey everyone and Happy Monday!

Today I have my best gradient mani yet! I have been seeing tutorials everywhere and wanted to provide another one as this mani can be tricky. To start, I painted my nails with the Magnetic Polish Pure Ice Ion-ically yours. I obviously did not use the magnetic part of it, but I just loved the color. Once that was completely dry, I began the gradient work. I used LA Colors Metallic Grey and mixed with Ion-ically yours to create the middle shade. So on my paper I had blobs of all three. Using a makeup sponge that was slightly damp, I painted on all three shades. Then you simply press on each nail repeatedly until you get the desired effect. These colors blended very well, better than gradients I've tried in the past. As always, this mani is pretty messy but after clean-up looks amazing. I'll definitely keep trying more color combos!

2nd Annual Birthday Glitter Sandwich!

Hey everyone! Today is my birthday and I had to do a special bday mani! I decided to do a glitter sandwich. If you've been following my blog for a while you might remember that I did a glitter sandwich for my birthday last year. I thought it would be fun to do another one a year later, and see how my nails/blogging has changed! Check out last year's mani here

For this year's mani, I used OPI Gone Gonzo from the Muppets Collection and Wet 'N Wild Party of Five Glitters. I used three coats of Gone Gonzo and about four of POFG. I created the 'sandwich' effect with Chanel Riva. Riva turned the silver glitter into almost a white glitter which I was surprised by! I really like how this turned out! My nails have definitely grown since last year and my photos have improved.

(Macro look at the sandy!)

Hope you all have a great day!

My Take On: Model's Own Aqua Violet Beetle Juice

Hey everyone! So if you've read my tweets lately you'll know that I broke pretty much every nail on my left hand over the weekend. Major bummer. So instead I had to take photos of my right hand, which is normally much sloppier and not as well kept as my left. Please forgive my nails and cuticles as they are not normal shown to the public :)

Aqua Violet Beetle Juice is a GORGEOUS color. I do have to say that it looks better in the bottle than on my nails. It loses some of the iridescence on the nail. It was slightly streaky and at first had some major bubble issues. But somehow with topcoat they went away!

Music Monday: Justin Bieber, Catcall, Ed Sheeran and more!

Hey everyone! Music Monday is back. Where I share my favorite tunes of the week with you to help you through the work week!

1. ALBUM: Believe- Justin Bieber
Click here to stream the whole thing. I am probably biased since I love the biebs, but I really enjoyed this album. Some of the tracks are really out there for Justin, featuring a lot of R&B and dubstep. But I know and you know that no matter what the reviews say, this will be selling like hotcakes!

2. The World Is Ours- Catcall
You can't resist the urge to sing along with this jam.

3. You Need Me, I Don't Need You-Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran reminds me of a British Jason Mraz on this song, with his quick lyrics and acoustic guitar. It's very catchy and I find myself dancing at my desk when I hear it!

4. How Do You Do?- Hot Chip
From their new album, this is definitely one of my favorites.

5. High For This- Ellie Goulding (The Weeknd Cover)
This cover is amazing. I love Ellie Goulding, but doing such a great cover makes me love her infinitely more. And this has been remixed quite a bit now with some awesome ones like this: Monsieur Adi Remix

Hope you enjoy these! Have a great week!

Pink Leopard Mani

Hi everyone! Today I have a fun pink mani with leopard print. I started with an unnamed LA Colors pink. I added Essie Plumberry for the dots and OPI Congeniality is my Middle Name for the leopard print outlines. I topped this off with CND Crimson Sparkle.

I like the monochromatic look, but these colors are a little too close to one another and the leopard design doesn't stand out as much as I'd like. But oh well! Have a great weekend everyone!

My Take On: Models Own Purple Blue (My first Models Own polish!)

Hi everyone! So the other day I spotted a few Models Own colors and I had to have them!! I grabbed three and this was the first one I tried.

Models Own Purple Blue is a dark maroon base with light blue microglitter throughout. It is definitely one of those polishes that looks different in different lights. I love this polish! Application was okay, not the best though. I used three coats on my nails for these photos.

Have you tried Models Own polishes? What do you think of them?

Flower Decals!

Hey everyone! Sorry for my absence the past few days! Just been pretty busy. Today I have a fun and easy mani for you. I've really been digging stripes lately and I wanted to try out these cute flower decals I got, so I thought- why not combine the two! I used OPI Alpine Snow as a base with Black stripes in Essie Licorice. I then placed the small yellow and pink decals on each nail. Really easy and cute. It did make me feel a bit like a 6 year old haha.

Hope you enjoy!

Red and Orange Summer Nails with Essie Tart Deco and Maybelline Caliente Coral

Hi friends! Today I have a fun summery mani for you! I used Maybelline Express Finish in Caliente Coral and Essie Tart Deco- both super fun summer shades. I painted my nails in Caliente Coral and left one accent nail in Tart Deco. I added a single vertical stripe to each nail. Easy and so bright and fun!

Happy Thursday!

Purple Splatter Mani with OPI, Zoya and Essie Purples!

Hey everyone!

First of all I must share a HUGE thank you to everyone who entered and shared my giveaway! It means so much and I appreciate all of your comments, tweets and entries :). And of course a congrats is due to Jeanine A.- the winner! Jeanine will be getting four lovely Essie shades in the mail shortly.

Now onto today's post. I love the splatter mani technique and purple is my favorite color so naturally I had to try this combo. I started with a base of OPI Do You Lilac It? For the splatter I used Essie Licorice, Zoya Nimue (a lavender glitter polish) and Essie Luxedo (A deep burgundy purple). I love how this turned out as well as the monochromatic idea. I will definitely be trying this again with other colors!

Have you tried the splatter mani technique?

My Take On: Sally Hansen Salon Effects in All Laced Up

Hi everyone! Today I have my review of my first ever Sally Hansen nail stickers! I received these from Influenster, a site I encourage everyone to check out!

Remember to enter my giveaway! Ending in just a few days :)

I received the strips in 'All Laced Up,' a nude base with black fishnet and lace design. I wasn't crazy about these in the box, but on my nails they looked awesome! The application was MUCH easier than I thought it would be. You basically clean off your nails, find the strips that fit your nails best and apply. It's very easy to file off the excess left on your nail and voila! It doesn't even need top coat. I was highly impressed by these and can see myself trying them out again!
