My First 'Cloud' Manicure

Hey everyone! Today I'm happy to show you my first ever 'Cloud' manicure. This style has been gaining popularity over the last few months. Probably because it's so cute and surprisingly easy!

I chose to use some winter/fall shades (to go with my uber pale skin!). I started with Butter London Branwen's Feather for the base, a deep dark purple with hints of silver shimmer. I then started the first 'cloud' shape with OPI Not Like the Movies from the Katy Perry collection. I then topped it off with Zoya Nimue, a gorgeous purple/silver shade. Sorry for the weird red tint on this, that was the only angle that showed all three colors well.

Have you tried out this type of mani yet?

Music Monday: Santigold, Fun., Justin Bieber and more!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had great weekends. If you were wondering, my spirited nails from Friday DID help :)

Today I have another round of my music picks for the week. Some new, some remixes- all awesome. Enjoy!

1. Some Nights- Fun.
This is just so happy. Fun.'s new album is pretty much amazing, but this has to be my favorite song.

2. Disparate Youth- Santigold
I've always been a fan of Santigold's interesting beats and songs that make me want to dance. This new track is no different!

3.Live My Life- Far East Movement ft. Justin Bieber
One of JB's first real collaborations is being released today on Itunes but I heard this leaked last week and can see it being a huge hit.

4. Birthday Cake- Rihanna ft. Chris Brown
Talk about controversy...Rihanna recently released this remix to her song 'Birthday Cake' featuring none other than ex Chris Brown. Weird move if you ask me, but the song remains catchy. Explicit warning...

NEW !!!!  Rihanna feat. Chris Brown - Birthday Cake (Remix) by Shark 502

Hope you all have a great start to your week!

Border Showdown Nails- KU vs. MU

Happy Friday! Those of you that have been reading my blog for a while probably know I went to the University of Kansas! This weekend KU will play their long-time rival Missouri for the last time ever, as MU is leaving the conference. Now not all of you may be into sports, let alone college sports but all you need to know is- this is a big freaking deal for KU, and thus for me.

I've sported KU nails before with water marbling and crackle designs...but this time I wanted to do something a bit more creative.

I used so many polishes for this one it was hard to keep track! I used Essie Mademoiselle on my middle finger and thumb as a base for Chanel Mimosa- which tends to need 3-4 coats. I was not in the mood for a goopy, drippy mani so I used the Essie light pink to help Mimosa stand out. I used OPI Animal-istic (My fave red) and Butter London Blagger for the base colors. I then used Urban Outfitters unnamed red and blue glitter polishes to decorate! PS If anyone knows the names of those colors I'd LOVE to know. They are unlabeled and they drive me crazy!

So as you can see I used a combination of stripes, glitter, polka dots and finally the KU logo in this mani! I love the way this turned out and I can only hope that my nails will help us get a big win on Saturday :)

Close up!

Just for fun...

Have a good weekend loves!

Matte Purple Sparkle

Hey everyone! Today I have a fun and simple mani anyone can do! I started off with OPI Do You Lilac It? and then topped it with two coats of unnamed Urban Outfitters Glitter Purple. However on my ring finger, I used a nail art brush to create vertical lines. I then topped off the whole thing with Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love...and here is the final product!

Seeing Stars- Award Show Nails!

Hey everyone! Today I have some photos of a mani I wore on Saturday to an awards show for work. I thought posting it now would be appropriate as the Oscars are these weekend. I'm sure we'll see some awesome nail looks on Sunday, but these are my own little version!

I used OPI Animalistic from the Muppets collection, a gorgeous creamy red. I only used two coats because that's all you need! I then stuck on some small red star rhinestones for the award show touch. Sealed with a coat of Seche Vite and voila! Simple and classy but still with a bit of pizazz! I loved this mani so much!

Music Monday: Whitney Houston, Diplo, Karmin and more!

Hi everyone! So glad to be back with my Music Monday posts! Today I have a wide variety of songs that I have been listening to on repeat the past week and a half!

1. Titanium (David Guetta Cover) - Collin McLoughlin
While I love the original by David Guetta with Sia doing vocals, this acoustic cover just shows what a beautifully written song this truly is.

2. Dancing in Houston- Robyn vs. Whitney Houston
In Honor of the late Whitney, I'm posting this awesome mashup of Robyn's Dancing on my Own and Whitney's How Will I Know.

3. Climax- Diplo ft. Usher
Loving this collaboration with Diplo (who may be unfamiliar to some of you) and Usher. Usher's signature vocals make this song so smooth.

4. Brokenhearted- Karmin
Some of you may know Karmin from their famous Chris Brown cover of 'Look at me Now.' I've been following this duo for a while and I am so happy to see them have success like this! Last week they performed on SNL and unlike most artists on the show- the performance was awesome!

Deep V Nails with KleanColor Metallic Green and OPI Congeniality is my Middle Name

Hi everyone and Happy Friday!!

Today I have a bright and fun mani for you! I'm calling it the 'Deep V.' I started out with one thin coat of KleanColor Metallic Green. Then, using a nail art brush I added on OPI Congeniality is my Middle Name. Normally CIMMN is much more purple, but I knew on top of the green it would appear more berry red. I finished off the V with unnamed blue glitter polish from Urban Outfitters. I think this is such a fun mani although it was a PAIN to take off.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

My Take On: OPI I Don't Give a Rotterdam!

Hey everyone! Today I have my swatches of OPI I Don't Give a Rotterdam from their new Holland collection. Honestly this was one of very few shades I was drawn to out of the collection. IDGAR is a lavender/grey with gold microglitter. It reminds me a bit of Butter London Victoriana, kind of like it's lavender twin! It applies really well, two coats would have been sufficient. After using the color I remembered that my Sally Hansen Antiqued Gold Crackle would go so well with this so I added a crackle half moon look.

Have you tried out this shade yet? Will you be getting any of the OPI Holland collection?

Hi everyone and Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you're all having fun days and enjoying some candy with friends/loved ones!

Today I have my seventh and final Valentine's Day mani! I wanted this one to be out of the normal red, pink vibe for all of the Valentine's day mani's I've been seeing! It's easy to see why this one is called 'Bee Mine!' I used KleanColor Metallic Yellow, and Essie Licorice and some yellow rhinestones. I think this is such a cute little design!

Seven Day of Valentine's Day Nails: Day 5: Valentine's Water Marble

Hi everyone! I normally don't post on Saturdays but I have another Valentine's Day mani to show you! For this one, I chose to use Water Marbling with Vday colors!

Reminder- Only a few days left to enter my 100 Follower Giveaway! Click here :)

Onto the nails! I started with a base of OPI Alpine Snow. For the water marbling I used OPI Pink Friday and an unnamed LA Colors pink. I really like how this turned out, but as always- Water Marbling can be tricky but the best part is they all look cool in their own way! This is pretty pic heavy as I wanted to showcase some of the individual nails!

Have a great weekend!

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of post yesterday, time got away from me! Today I have my fourth Vday Mani, called 'Golden Hearts.'

First- remember to enter my giveaway, only open for four more days!! Click here!

I started this off with two coats of Butter London All Hail McQueen, one of my all time favorites. I then created the hearts using OPI Rally Pretty Pink. I do love RPP but am always disappointed when it appears a bit more gold-ish than pink! I created the red heart outlines using unnamed Urban Outfitters Red Glitter polish.

Have a great weekend loves!

Hi everyone! Today I have my second Valentine's Day mani, I'm calling this one Cupid's Arrow! I started off with two coats of Zoya Audrina (which I just realized they classify as a purple?!). I created the arrow's path with OPI Black Onyx and finally finished with the arrow piercing the heart on my thumb using OPI Animalistic (my new favorite red!). I think this is such a cute take on the typical Vday mani! Look out for more fun valentine's themed nails coming this week!

Seven Days of Valentine's Day Nails- Day 1: Subtle Hearts

Hi everyone! I'm excited to announce that for the next seven days leading up to Valentine's Day I'll be posting fun, Valentine's Day themed manis!

Before you keep reading- remember to enter my 100 follower giveaway which coincidentally ends on Valentine's Day! Click here to enter!

For the first mani, I just kept it simple with some subtle, classy little hearts on each nail. I used two coats of China Glaze Camisole. Camisole is a pearly beige color, a great neutral! I used Essie It's Genius to make small hearts on each nail.

Enjoy and keep coming back each day to check out more Valentine's-themed mani's!
