Ombre Glitter Nails: Silver and Grey Edition

Hi everyone! Today I have quite a festive mani for you. I started out with two coats of Pure Ice 'Kiss Me Here'- a deep grey creme polish. I then started the ombre process using China Glaze Glistening Snow from their Holiday 2012 collection. Glistening Snow is a silver microglitter, but the polish is surprisingly rich with glitter! I used about 3-4 coats to accomplish this ombre look. I still love this trend and will always like it :)

My Take On: China Glaze Surreal Appeal

Hey everyone! Today I have such a fun color to show you from the China Glaze Cirque du Soleil collection. As soon as I got these I had to try this pink- Surreal Appeal! This creme polish is a light pink but that packs a neon punch. I used two coats in these photos. Overall I love this color!!

My Take On: e.l.f. Desert Haze

Hey everyone! Today I'm reviewing one of my first e.l.f. polishes. I snagged these on clearance at Target, and I actually hadn't ever seen them before! I am always a sucker for nude polishes so I had to grab this one. Desert Haze is a light nude, almost grey polish. I used just two coats on this.

Are you a fan of e.l.f. polishes?

My Take On: Winter Holly from the China Glaze Holiday 2012 Collection

Hey everyone! Today I'm reviewing an awesome polish from the China Glaze Holiday 2012 Collection- Winter Holly. WH is a deep forest glitter polish with multi-colored microglitter. It applies well, but even my Seche Vite could not keep it super shiny. That did disappoint me. Overall though, it is a beautiful polish and perfect for the holidays!

Butter London Bluey with Zoya Jules Polka Dots

Hi friends! Back to regular posting now. Today I have a fun mani, using Butter London Bluey- a deep metallic blue, perfect for winter. I added some polka dots using a dotting tool and Zoya Jules- one of my go-to polishes for nail art. I love these colors together and I am VERY into polka dots now that I got a better dotting tool :)

The Reason for my Absence...

HELLO! I have missed you guys. I owe a major apology for being MIA for the last 12 days (eek!).

But I have a good reason...

Basically it was amazing and the best day ever. But because of that I've been very very occupied! You all would also be very proud to know that my nails were perfectly done, wearing China Glaze With Love (HOW APPROPRIATE) from their Holiday 2012 collection.

My new fiance had a secret photographer there to snap the photos of the proposal and I've posted some below!

Now back to blogging! And I'll be needing ideas for polish on my wedding day! Wee!

My (2nd) Take On: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish

Hi everyone! Today I have my second time trying Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish. Normally I wouldn't buy these because I think they are overpriced. I saw some on sale at Target recently and figured I'd give them a try! I have used these once before and overall liked them alot. This time I tried a neutral snakeskin design. I loved the design and got many compliments on them. I did have a slight issue with have the stickers cover my nail all the way to the tip. Several nails had gaps and unlike real polish, you can't go back and paint over it afterwards. I always find it strange that these strips smell like nail polish! But it is nice to have them dry instantly.

Are you a fan of the nail polish sticker trend?

My Take On: China Glaze Pizzazz

Hey everyone! This year I got to sample some of the China Glaze Holiday 2012 collection. My first pick was naturally, Pizzazz- a clear base multicolor glitter polish. I chose to swatch this with no base color to show how it would look without one. I used about four coats and I was pleased with the application. This was just as glittery as I'd hoped it would be! Very festive, and great for maybe New Year's Eve.

VERY BELATED Music Monday (Tuesday)

Hi friends! I have been majorly lacking on my latest music picks. Therefore, today's post will be a hefty one- with all of my latest music picks!

1. Hang It Up- The Ting Tings
I recognized this song first from the trailer for Pitch Perfect (a killer movie if you haven't seen it!) but now I am obsessed.

2. Nuclear Seasons- Charli XCX
You may recognize this from one of my guilty pleasure shows, Gossip Girl Or you may love it because it's just kick ass.

3. Bills, Bills, Bills- Masquer (Destiny's Child Cover)
I'm a sucker for a good Destiny's Child cover, and this indie group nails it.

4. Pop Life (2012 Mashup)
This is one of those intense 30 song mashups, but it's so fun I can't help but love it!

5. Lost- Vaudeville Smash (Frank Ocean Cover)
I love Frank Ocean and this song, and this cover is so interesting. Worth a listen, or two.

6. Echo- Foxes (FIXYN Remix)
Foxes is just awesome, and this remix of her new song is fab.

Hope you enjoy!

I Mustache You a Question! Movember Nails

Howdy! Hopefully you've noticed that the blog got a little facelift today! Woo! My nails today are sporting little mustaches and polka dots. I used Julie G Metallic Heels as my base. My latest obsession, OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest for the polka dots and Essie Licorice for the cute mustaches.

For those of you who don't know what Movember is, it's a program that raises money for Prostate Cancer research h through groups of men growing mustaches in November! This mani is a fun way to celebrate it!

Election Day Mani!

Hi everyone! Today I have a fun Election Day look. Hopefully you'll be voting today, I did so this morning! This is a great look to sport at the polls or at an election watch party tonight! I used the gradient technique with an unnamed LA Colors red and A England Order of the Garter. I used a make up sponge to create the look. I love how this turned out- it's festive without being too obnoxious for work, although that's not a rule I usually abide to :).

Hope you enjoy and Happy Voting!

Halloween Nails: Skulls and Kitties!

Happy Halloween! Hope you are all enjoying some candy today and wearing fabulous costumes! I have two very fun Halloween looks today. First, I made skulls using OPI Alpine Snow and Essie licorice. This technique was pretty easy but I think with more practice I could improve these little cute skulls. Next, I created a kitty mani! For this I used a base of Essie Mademoiselle, and used Essie licorice for the cat face, OPI Pink Friday for the nose and Alpine Snow for the eyes! I love this look, it may be my favorite ever!

Enjoy and have a fun and safe Halloween!

Halloween Spiderweb mani

Hi lovelies. Today I have my first of three Halloween looks! I started this look using Butter London Pillar Box Red, and then added a coat of Urban Outfitters red glitter polish. For the spiderweb I used a thin nail art brush and Essie licorice. I like how this turned out but I think it might have looked more Halloweenish with orange or purple. Hope you are all painting fun Halloween looks this week!

KC Blogger Meetup Recap

Hi everyone! Today I have a recap of the KC Blogger event I attended last night. The event was thrown by Lisa from Peridot Skys and Erin of Pretty, Polished, Perfect. We enjoyed cupcakes and drinks while checking out great jewlery creations from fellow bloggers. Then we made our way into the kitchen for my favorite part of the event- Dip-dying! I brought a pair of bleached jeans to dye and I was so excited. Many of the girls used a dark Olive dye, and some used a Wine or 'Oxblood' as I should call it. Dip-dying is easy enough, but as we learned it is definitely a two person job! I loved it and hope to try it again with maybe a scarf or t-shirt!

I love attending these events and can't wait to meet more fabulous bloggers!

Tasty cupcakes made by Erin!

Getting ready to dip-dye

Rinsing out my new jeans!

The final product! (Drying in my bathroom hah)
