Day 26: Inspired by a Pattern-Gingham!

Hi there!

Today I have my 'Inspired by a Pattern' mani up for you! I chose to base my mani on a fun, summery pattern-Gingham!

I use two coats of OPI Alpine Snow to start, and made the checkered design with American Apparel Office and an accent nail with Essie Lapis of Luxury. I love the way this turned out. I'd love to try it again with each nail a different color.

Day 25: Inspired by Fashion- Kate Spade!

Hello everyone!

Today I have such a fun mani! It took me all of five seconds to decide where I wanted to look- Kate Spade! I love all of their handbags, jewelry, clothes and I especially love their blog! I was inspired in particular by this handbag (which I certainly wouldn't mind having myself!)

I used Nicole by OPI My Empire...My Rules from the Kardashian collection for the base, CND Raspberry Parfait for the pink spade, and the following shades for the polka dots: Essie Red Noveau, Chanel Mimosa, OPI Jade is the New Black, and Illamasqua Jo'Mina.

Day 23 and 24: Breaking Dawn Inspired Nails!

Hi friends, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you're all having a great holiday and enjoying time off from work or school! Today I am finally putting up my Twilight: Breaking Dawn inspired nails!

At first, I made the mani for 'Inspired by a Movie' nails. Then I realized my nails went with the cover of Stephenie Meyer's book, so I might as well use this for 'Inspired by a Book' day also! I was inspired by the chess set on the cover of the book (see below). For fans of the series, I personally loved when Bella and Edward play chess on their honeymoon in the movie. It was such a nice homage to the cover of the book!

I used OPI Alpine Snow, Essie Red Nouveau, and OPI Black Onyx.  I tried to use both the chess boards as well as the pieces. I loved this mani even though only those who are fans of the series might get it :)

Day 22: Inspired by a Song!

Hello everyone!

Getting excited for Turkey Day? I am!

Today I have for you my 'Inspired by a Song' mani! I thought of a ton of songs that would make great manicures but I just wanted to do something fun! I finally settled on Katy Perry's Peacock! If you don't know this song, it is so much fun, it always puts me in a good mood. It is however on the raunchy side as the entire song is basically a sexual innuendo. I imagine when she makes a video for it, it will be EPIC but for now this is as good as I could find!

For my nails I made peacock feathers! Much with the help from a tutorial on Cindys Nails! I started with OPI Ski Teal We Drop, followed by the first set of 'feathers' in OPI Jade is the New Black. I then used American Apparel Office, Essie Trophy Wife, Chanel Peridot and finally OPI Cuckoo for this Color! PS The photo of polishes is missing AA Office-whoops! I really like how this one turned out, and I will definitely be trying the peacock feather mani again!

Day 21: Inspired by a Color- Purple Ombre Mani

Hello there!

For Day 21, the challenge is 'Inspired by a Color.' I of course chose my favorite shade, purple!! I decided on an Ombre mani to show off some of my favorite polishes. I used (from pinky to thumb) Essie Lilacism, OPI Do you Lilac It?, Zoya Nimue, Zoya Savita and OPI INK.

These colors look great together and all of them have perfect application. Zoya Savita is a matte shade that I just used Seche Vite top coat on it!

Day 20: WATER MARBLING with OPI Barefoot in Barcelona, Essie Luxedo and Nicole by OPI Hard-Kourt Fashionista

Hi friends!

Today I have my water marbling post for you! I love water marbling, it is such a fun way to experiment with your mani and no two designs ever look the same!

For this mani I used my CND Stickey base coat, followed by one coat of OPI Alpine Snow as a base. Using white before water marbling helps to make the colors more vibrant!

I was feeling quite thanksgiving-y when I did this mani so I chose three fall-ish colors; OPI Barefoot in Barcelona, Essie Luxedo and Nicole by OPI Hard-Kourt Fashionista. As usual with water marbling, some nails came out better than others...but I do just love these shades together. I was surprised how similar Luxedo and Hard-Kourt Fashionista looked together but overall, I was pretty pleased!

Day 19: GALAXIES (Plus Tutorial!)

Happy Friday!

I have to admit, when I saw the Galaxy mani on the list for the 30 day nail challenge, I was a bit scared. I've always loved this mani and have just been afraid to try it! After watching a few tutorial videos and searching through some of my favorite blogs I gave it a shot!

To start of course I used CND Stickey base coat. I'll follow along with the pictures below:

1. I started with MAC Nightfall, a glittery black/charcoal. I used just two coats of this. I think this step can be switched out with a true black or even maybe a very dark blue or purple!

2. Now we start with the sponging! I just cut out a piece of a sponge and used tweezers to dab on (very lightly) the polish.  I just did a basic pattern diagonally but I think it would be fun to sponge in a more 'galaxy' like shape!

3.I started off with lightly sponging OPI Alpine Snow.

4. I followed up with Chanel Mimosa, although I think an orange would look great too!

5. Next I used a light pink, OPI Cozumelted In The Sun

6. The last few steps are simple! I used Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe (how appropriate!) around the edges. Any dark blue or purple will do. I then made some small dots for stars using Alpine Snow again. Finally I covered the nail with CND Sapphire Sparkle and a coat of Seche Vete and voila!

This mani was surprisingly simply and like so many others, the possibilities are endless! No two designs or color combinations will look the same. Hopefully this little tutorial will help you!

Day 18- HALF MOONS with Nicole by OPI Kardashian Colors!

Hi everyone!

If you've been following my blog, you'll know I LOVE the half moon mani. I was so excited to do this day in the challenge but then I wanted to try something a little funky.

I recently got a few of the Nicole by OPI Kardashian Colors and I wanted to try them out! I started with three coats of the blue/teal Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam. I love this color, although it looked a bit more blue on my nails compared to the teal/green it looked in the bottle. Then I used Hard-Kourt Fashionista on top. I absolutely love this brown shade and can see myself wearing it a lot this fall/winter. I used the trusty hole punch reinforcement stickers but on my ring finger I used a star sticker to create a fun design.

To top it off, I also grabbed Hard Candy's 'Matte-ly in Love,' a matte top-coat! I would have to say that I think the matte top coat would look better on a smoother mani, and when I use the matte top coat again I'll definitely be using it with a simple, one shade mani (sounds so boring now!)

Overall, I think this mani is a fun, fall way to show off the half-moon design!

Day 17-GLITTER: OPI Teenage Dream

Hi everyone!

Glitter was such a hard choice to make for me, as I love glitter polishes and there are so many gorgeous designs to choose from! I finally settled on a pink and silver combo.

I started with 2 coats of Nabi Cinnamon (my $1 find from Minnesota!) and added two coats of OPI Teenage Dream to add some major sparkle. I spiced it up a bit by adding Wet 'N Wild Silvivor stripes as an accent nail.

This mani turned out pretty cute and I'm always reminded how much I love Teenage Dream, it's just so gorgeous!

Day 16: TRIBAL with OPI Jade is the New Black and Ski Teal We Drop

Hey everyone!

Today I have Day 16 of the 30 day nail challenge- tirbal! This one was so hard to decide the color combination for, but I finally settled on two of my favorites, OPI Jade is the New Black and Ski Teal We Drop.

I was inspired by a variety of tribal nails I've seen around the blogosphere. Something I love about the tribal design is that you can change it up so much! With colors and designs, it's just such a fun mani. I used three coats of Jade is the New Black and used a nail art brush to paint the design in Ski Teal We Drop. I think it turned out great!

Hi everyone!

Here is Day 15 of the 30 day nail challenge. This day is 'delicate prints.'

I pretty much freehanded a Konad Nail stamp I saw here. I think it turned out alright! I used three coats of OPI Not Like the Movies from the Katy Perry collection and used an unknown black polish I've had forever.

Day 14: FLOWERS

Hi everyone! Sorry for the short hiatus since Halloween. I've been in the process of moving so that has been taking a lot of my normal blogging time.

Back to the 30 Day Nail Challenge! Today I've got flowers. I used OPI Cozumelted In The Sun as my base color, a glitter pink on the verge of coral. My flowers used Nicole by OPI Respect the World and Take a Stand. I also used Essie Lapis of Luxury and 17 Tropical Island. These colors went together a lot better in my head, but the flowers turned out fine! I was actually surprised that my right hand turned out a bit better than my left!

Excited to continue the challenge!
