Newspaper Mani

Hi everyone!

Today I have a manicure I've been dying to try...a newspaper mani! I couldn't believe how simple it really was!

First, I painted three coats of OPI Stranger Tides. Then I soaked my nails in some vodka and placed small strips of newspaper on my nails. The hardest part is not moving the newspaper once it's on your nail. You peel it off and voila! If you're curious, I used the Wall Street Journal! I thought it was particularly fun to use pieces of the newspaper that werent just text, like crossword puzzles or anything a little funky!

I love my left ring finger the most because I used part of a QR code on it! This mani is so simple and easy while being so unique! I'd recommend it to anyone.

Have you ever tried this mani?

Two Awesome Covers!

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts recently, just been busy! Today I have two really great covers that I just love!

The first is a cover of Weezer's "Island In The Sun" by Deaux. It's really mellow and a song I would love to fall asleep to.

Deaux – Island In The Sun by FuckFlores

Then I have a cover of Vampire Weekend's "A-Punk" by Ryan Adams. Ryan takes an upbeat song and makes it chill.

Ryan Adams - A-Punk by Song of the Day

Both of these songs relax me when I'm feeling stressed, and hopefully they will help you too!

Across The Universe Accent Mani

Hello friends!

Today I've done a bit of a wintry manicure, but I was really wanting to use my Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe! I used OPI Ski Teal We Drop and ATU to accent!

I love these colors together and was staring at my nails all day!

New Leona Lewis: Collide

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.

Heard this song this morning and I just love it! I've always been a fan of Leona Lewis and her newest single is just as great as the first songs I loved.

Have a listen to "Collide" here:

Harry Potter inspired Crackle Mani

Hi everyone! So I love Harry Potter and have grown up reading the books! I went to see the movie last night at midnight and loved it so much. I was so amazed by all of the different HP manis and nail art I had seen...and I wanted to try one! This is pretty simple but still fun! And yes, I am a nerd.

I used Chanel Mimosa and OPI Red Shatter to represent Gryffindor on my right hand.

And then I used OPI Jade Is The New Black and OPI Black Shatter to represent Slytherin.

I think this mani is really fun and it was easy and still looks great, and captures the movie.

Will you be seeing the movie this weekend?

My Take On: Zoya Apple

Hey guys, tonight I have some swatches of Zoya Apple. I absolutely love this color and was overwhelmed by the amount of comments I got on it! It looks beautiful especially in sunlight. I used three coats but I could have been fine with just two.

Such a gorgeous color and a dream to apply, I highly recommend it!

What do you think of this shade?

Song of the Day: Ben Folds Covers Ke$ha's "Sleazy"

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.

So last night I went to a Ben Folds concert in the 100 degree heat but it was amazing! I've been a Ben Folds fan for years but had never seen him as a headliner. One of my favorite parts of the concert was a cover he did of Ke$ha's "Sleazy." It's not her most popular song but it is catchy and has all the typical Ke$ha attributes (being drunk, partying, dancing etc.). I'd seen the video below a while ago and thought it was hilarious! Check it out:

Here is the original by Ke$ha herself:

Pastel Summer French

Hi everyone! Today I have a cute pastel french mani. I started with about four coats of Chanel Riva, then two coats of Zoya Jules and finally two coats of American Apparel office. I was in a rush and this is much messier than I would have liked...but it looks cute from far away :)

What do you think of the pastel colors together?

Fourth of July Mani!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great fourth of July weekend and took some time to relax. I've been so amazed with all of the fun fourth of July manicures and I wanted to post what I came up with!

I used Maybeline 50 second dry polish in Speedy Hot Tamale and two coats of CND Sapphire Sparkle for the diagonal. I topped this with a blue rhinestone and a red star shaped rhinestone for the patriotic look. I really like this one but unfortunately because I was doing a lot of activity at the lake this weekend lost a lot of stones!

I apologize for the messy cuticles!

Did you do anything for the holiday weekend? Did you do any sort of fun mani?
