Zoya Nimue with Tao Accent Nail

Hey guys,

Today I've tried two colors from the Smoke and Mirrors collection from Zoya. I used Zoya Nimue and I love this color! The purple shade is elegant and great for fall. It only needed two coats and application was perfect. For an accent, I used the graphite shade, Tao. Similarly, this only needed two coats.

What do you think of this color combo?

Skittles French Mani!

Hi everyone!

So after eyeing this mani for a while, I finally tried it! It is so simple and easy and looks fun any time of the year! I went with summer brights but I can see how I could translate it to fall colors, etc.

I used a variety of brands for this, from pinky to thumb: OPI Jade is the New Black, Deborah Lippmann Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Butter London Blagger, Zoya Audrina and Chanel Mimosa on the thumb! I added one coat of CND Sapphire Sparkle for some shimmer!

Have you ever tried a mani like this?

Hey everyone! So sorry for the lack of posts this week, I was off for the week and was relaxing with the fam.

Some of you may have watched the VMA's tonight but in case you missed it, here is a quick recap and some of my favorite moments!

1) Lady Gaga started off the show dressed as her 'alter ego' Joe Calderone, and spoke to the audience for a few minutes until finally starting her newest single 'You and I.'

2) Surprise performance from Jay-Z and Kanye, with a song off their Watch The Throne album, 'Otis.' Someone managed to run across the stage during the performance but they still rocked it. Fireworks, American Flags and Jean Ombre.

3) Adele's outstanding performance of 'Someone Like You.' No theatrics, just a piano and Adele.

4) Britney Spears tribute. Lady Gaga (still in drag) presented Britney with her award after a group of dancers honored all of Britney's best videos. I kind of feel like Lady Gaga ruined Britney's moment, as she was trying to 'hit' on Britney and talk to her the whole time instead of letting her speak.

5) Beyonce's pregnancy announcement. That is going to be the richest, prettiest, most talented baby ever.   After her performance, Beyonce undid her blazer and rubbed her clearly pregnant belly, with cameras immediately panning to Jay-Z.

6) Amy Winehouse tribute. Russell Brand introduced, and Tony Bennett shared an exclusive video of him in the studio with Amy where she looks and sounds gorgeous. Bruno Mars covered Valerie, and in one of my favorite moments they showed Adele singing every word in the audience (I would have been too!) It was as fun and joyful as it was moving and sad. Amy will be missed!

7) Jessie J as the house artist. I felt very bad that not everyone knew she had a broken foot and thus, was sitting the whole time. I am a huge fan of hers and it was almost embarrassing how good she was covering other artists' songs who were at the VMA's.

What did you think of the show?!

Lady Gaga 'You & I' Music Video Leaked!

The Lady does it again! Another crazy video from Lady Gaga, and this time for one of my favorite songs from her latest album, Born This Way. 'You & I' may seem familiar from a rendition on American Idol by Hailey (which I loved!). The song itself has pretty standard lyrics but it is one I especially like to jam out to in the car.

The video on the other definitely out there. We see her in a variety of situations but it begins with a Gaga walking in the country dressed for a funeral. In the next piece, she plays both the 'girl' and the 'boy' and is probably my favorite aspect of the video. We then watch Gaga dancing with many others in what feels a bit like footloose. And next? A mermaid Gaga!

This version of the song is extended, and she mentions Nebraska a lot more (maybe why this whole video looks like Nebraska?)

Overall- I love it!

What do you think?

My Take On: Chanel Peridot

Hi everyone! Today I'm finally wearing the gorgeous fall Chanel Peridot. The entire Chanel fall collection is beautiful but Peridot stands out to me as the winner-a green shimmer that looks great indoors and simply amazing in the sun! It only needs two coats to be opaque but I used three, and Deborah Lippmann Addicted to Speed topcoat.

Love!! Have you tried this shade yet?

Chevron Mani!

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. This week after I swatches Essie Wrapped in Rubies, I added a Chevron stripe in Trophy Wife.

The Chevron trend is everywhere, from clothing to wallpaper and I thought it would be a great idea for nails!

I used plain ol scotch tape to create the stripe and used two coats of Trophy Wife and Deborah Lippmann Addicted to Speed top coat.

So easy and looks super cute! Endless color combos too!

Would you ever try a mani like this?

Taylor Swift Covers Fall Out Boy

Hey guys!

Here is a great cover by princess of pop country, Tswift. Throughout her tour, she has been doing covers of artists who are from that area.

My Take One: Essie Wrapped in Rubies

Hey guys!

I've been avoiding the drugstore ever since they started carrying Essie because I knew I'd give in! Finally I have, and grabbed three great colors.

First I've tried Essie Wrapped in Rubies, a red-copper shimmery polish! In the bottle it looked much more orange/copper to me, but on my nails it looks much more red. Love this one!

Application was perfect and I could have done with just two coats, but added a third! This color is gorgeous and perfect for fall!

Have you ever tried this shade?

I just used three coats of Phoebe and two coats of Seche Vite to make the French. It was so simple and cute! The photos didn't quite show up as well as I'd intended but it looked great in person!

Are you a fan of Matte? Would you ever try this mani?

Have You Heard? Andy Grammer

So I heard this song a while ago but had lost track of the name and who sang it. I was so glad to finally run across it again!

You may recognize this amazing upbeat tune by Andy Grammer, "Keep Your Head Up" from the radio or like me, from a friend who had been a fan of his for years. If you don't know him already, I can only imagine how big he's going to get!

I love this video and song and it just puts me in the best mood!

Are you a fan of this song?

Glitter French Mani

Hi everyone! Today I have a simple but fun mani! I started with two light coats of Essie Mademoiselle to even out my nails. I then topped my nails with 2-3 coats of Butter London Rosie Lee. Big props to Butter London as my previous bottle dried out and they sent me a new one!

Love this simple, cute and easy mani!

Have you ever tried this type of mani?
